Eastern Water and Sanitation Company Limited was incorporated as a private company limited by shares, under the Companies Act (Cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia) on 12th May 2008. The Company’s mission is to effectively provide safe, adequate and affordable water supply and sanitation services with maximum efficiency to the existing and potential clients in the urban and peri-urban areas of Eastern Province.
In order to achieve its mandate Eastern Water and Sanitation Company is advertising for the positions of:
1. CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANTS (SALARY SCALE G 3- REQUIRED NO: 1; CHIPATA)
JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose of the job is to collect meter readings, attending and resolving customer complaints, serving of bills and notices, carry out repairs and maintenance works on the water supply and sewer network pipes and accessories in order to ensure continuous distribution of supply of water and sanitation services to the customers and members of the public.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English & Mathematics
- Certificate or Diploma in a business-related course or in any water related program.
- Computer Literate
- Not less than 1 year experience.
- Current paid-up member of a respective professional body
2. DRAINMAN (SALARY SCALE G4 – REQUIRED 1; CHIPATA)
To undertake a variety of tasks involving the unblocking, pumping, cleaning, digging and burying the sewer networks and related infrastructure using hand and power tools as instructed by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels.
- Plumbing or Bricklaying Skills will be an added advantage.
3. PLUMBER (SALARY SCALE G2 – REQUIRED 1; CHIPATA)
To undertake a variety of plumbing tasks involving the repair, maintenance, rehabilitation and installation of pipes in the water and sewerage network, equipment, networks and associated infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English & Mathematics
- Full Craft Certificate in Plumbing
- 1 year experience in plumbing works
- Current paid-up member of a respective professional body
