Job Description
Scaw Limited is a Copperbelt-based manufacturing Company established in1960 specializing in the manufacturing of grinding media, castings products and industrial oxygen and acetylene.
The Company seeks to employ a suitably qualified, experienced and result oriented individual to fill up the below position on a two-year contract renewable depending on individual performance: –
1. MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING OFFICER (01)
Below is a brief job profile/ accountability: –
- Maintain organizational training records for the purpose of proof, reference, audit and history of the training programs.
- Takes a lead in preparation and participating in training audits both internal and external
- Maintain program data and tools to train staff and others.
- Liaise with departments to manage and assign training programs.
- Take a lead in identifying and analysing training needs at individual, departmental and organizational levels
- Conducting pre-training (measure skills gaps and areas needing improvement) and post -training assessments (training effectiveness in terms of meeting the initial needs identified)
- Plan and coordinate proper training venues, timing, and modality.
- Make recommendations of training agenda or curriculum, as necessary.
- Oversee and participate in the development of training materials.
- Maintain attendance logs, incident reports, and other necessary records.
- Lead, mentor, counsel and manage performance of project staff (depending upon project structure).
- Serve as a thought leader, mentor and coach on continuous improvement tools.
- Provide input on safety, quality, or efficiency risks to the manufacturing process.
- Support other teams with projects as directed.
- Manage staffing needs and ensure ratios are maintained to provide effective operational performance.
- Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement throughout.
- Manage the setup and start-up training programs.
- Compile and analyze data to help with budget preparation and training priorities.
- Be responsible for a values-based approach to leadership education and development within the company.
- Track metrics daily to ensure that all departments are running effectively.
- Spearhead periodical staff performance appraisal.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade Twelve Certificate
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management; Degree in Engineering with a Diploma any social science
- Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing/mining industry and at least 3 years in training roles.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and ISO 3500 Risk Management will be an added advantage.
- Membership: Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIHRM) and/or Engineering Institute of Zambia, with a valid practicing certificate for 2024.

Work Hours: Minimum of Eight (08) hours with frequent outside office activities with external partners.
