Job Summary:

The Head of IT will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, digital transformation, project management and management of information technology and management information systems within the organization. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of both microfinance operations and technological innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the IT department, providing guidance, training, ensuring efficient operation and high performance of all IT systems
  • Advise senior management on technological trends and emerging technologies that could impact the company’s operations.
  • Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, database, application server, networks, and security systems.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems to support business operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address their IT needs.
  • Ensure the scalability, availability, and reliability of IT systems to support the company’s growth and operations
  • Manage IT budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect the company’s data and IT assets.
  • Oversee risk management practices related to IT, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices in the microfinance sector.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to support the company’s IT needs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the IT department.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing complex IT systems and infrastructure in a financial services or microfinance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity practices, network management, server administration, cloud computing, virtualization platform, ERP system, IT governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with IT project management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Any vendor Certification.

Reporting Line:

The Head IT shall report to the CEO.

Salary:

  • Gross monthly salary of ZMW 20,000.00.
  • Gratuity at the end of 2-year Contract (Renewable)
