Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Information

  • Work with information officers at provincial, district and health facility level to trouble-shoot and find solutions to DHIS2 and other information systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Work with web-based data visualization software such as Tableau to improve visualization of Malaria, Diarrhoea and Pnuemonia surveillance data for the RHCC districts.
  • Analyse weekly and monthly data reporting trends to ensure timely and quality reported data by health facilities, community health workers, and other sub facilities through routine monitoring

Capacity Building 

  • Develop a capacity-building strategy for project staff to improve project effectiveness, and monitoring systems to enhance the delivery of project measurement and reporting.
  • Conduct training of project staff for effective implementation and data capture across the project sites
  • Provide ongoing surveillance and data management technical assistance to all project stakeholders including relevant government departments. This includes development of data collection tools.
  • Provide Capacity building to technical staff on the use of digital tools for monitoring through coaching and mentoring.

Monitoring, Surveillance, and Reporting

  • Conduct periodic Data Quality Assurance (DQA) through data verification procedures including routine data quality audits, data quality mentorship activities, and data review meetings for projects to ensure the sustained production of high-quality data.
  • Guide staff with strategic information for preparing the progress reports in accordance with approved reporting formats and ensure their timely submission.
  • Produce consolidated monthly quarterly, semi-annual/annual Performance Reports for the Project   for sharing with donors and other stakeholders
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions to improve knowledge management activities. Work with other partners, NMEC, and other specialists to conduct baselines and other relevant information for project to measure status, impact, and scale.
  • Configure reporting phones and assist with talk time disbursement to health facility personnel and community health workers.
  • Provide backend support during iCCM+ for community health worker trainings.
  • Use visualization software to produce childhood diseases (malaria, pneumonia and diarrhroea) stratification graphs, maps, Factsheets and other visuals for NMEC and the RHCC team to track implementation. Respond to requests from NMEC technical working groups and the RHCC national committee

Research & Learning

  • Working in close collaboration with the TP DME focal point, Knowledge Management Specialist and TP Manager identify the need and draw up the Terms of References for specific studies.
  • In close collaboration with technical staff, develop research areas and protocols within the RHCC project
  • Coordinate all research activities and ensure documentation of lessons learned from all research work to inform project implementation. Guide and supervise consultants or organizations that are contracted to implement special surveys and studies required for evaluating grant effects and impacts.
  • Ensure key learnings, and good practices from the project are documented and shared internally and externally.
  • Ensure Projects learnings with impact & evidence gathered to contribute to the Health Technical Program Briefing Papers.
  • Ensure innovations in the project are documented for scaling up to other Projects/Area Programs. Promote the utilization of evidence from various activities in the project including stories of change, case studies, as and when required by the donor
  • Coordinate regular project review meetings to facilitate dialogue and learning on project Implementation.

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:

  • Degree in Demography, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, development studies, and any other related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • At least 3 years working in the area of public health
  • Experience in Project Management in a complex, international organization preferably in an NGO context will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in M&E with funded projects from various donors will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of World Vision operations would be an added advantage,
  • Must have experience in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, analytical, report writing, and publishing skills
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, decision making, conflict management,
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, and must be a mature Christian.
  • Computer literate in statistical packages including Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical or data analysis/visualization tools such as, EPI Info, CS Pro, SPSS, Tableau and PowerBI
  • Capacity to function well in a team and contribute effectively to team efforts

 

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment:  Office-based 60%:  field 40%
  • Travel: Be prepared to travel to implementation sites and regional/global meetings as required.
