Job Description
Job Title: Commodity Trade Manager
Job Location: Lusaka

Job Summary:
The Commodity Trade Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the buying, selling, and trading of commodities. He will work closely with suppliers, customers, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth trading operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor global and regional commodity markets to identify trends, price movements, and potential trading opportunities.
- Execute buy and sell trades in various commodities, ensuring adherence to company strategies and risk management policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and brokers to secure the best trading opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms of trade agreements with counterparties.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of commodities.
- Prepare regular reports on trading activities, market conditions, and financial performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on trading strategies and market opportunities.
- Explore new trading opportunities and markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Business.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in commodity trading, with a strong track record of profitable trades.
- Deep understanding of commodity markets, including market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and risk factors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex market data.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in trading software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
- Experience in international trade and knowledge of import/export regulations.
- Strong network within the commodity trading community.
- This role may require travel to meet with clients, suppliers, and attend industry events.
