Job Description


Trident College is located on a 113-hectare nature reserve in Solwezi, Zambia. The school opened its doors to the first pioneering group of pupils and parents in September 2013. In addition to serving the local copper mining com-munity’s educational needs, the College is now home to 320 pupils. Trident College is rapidly becoming the boarding school of choice in Zambia and a strong option for parents and pupils throughout Southern Africa.

Trident College Solwezi forms part of the Trident Group of schools, consisting of three prep schools and the College. Trident Schools are, in turn, operated by Educore Services whose vision is to create a generation of engaged, enlightened, and empowered learners and teachers.
The College offers the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum to boys and girls from year 7 to year 13 with external Cambridge Certification at the end of Year 11 (IGCSE), Year 12 (A/S-level) and Year 13 (A-level).

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry teacher to join our dynamic science department. The suc-cessful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Chemistry sylla-bus up to A-level, fostering a deep understanding and love for the subject. They must also be able to teach both Physics and Biology in KS3 and IGCSE. The role requires a forward-thinking approach, incorporating digital technologies to enhance the learning experience and prepare students for the future.
Commencement date: 1 January 2025.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive lesson aligned with the CIE Chemistry syllabus.
  • Utilize modern technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school and boarding supervision.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in chemistry and educational technology and pedagogy.

Qualifications and other attributes:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant teaching certification (e.g. PGCE).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching the CIE Chemistry syllabus at A-level or equivalent will be a strong advantage.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technological skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to laboratory work and chemical handling.
