Job Description
1.Receiving Goods:
Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of goods received.
Ensure that all deliveries match purchase orders and invoices.
Report any discrepancies or damaged items to the supplier and the purchasing department.
2.Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, including stock levels, stock movements, and stock discrepancies.
Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase orders when necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
3.Storage and Organization:
Organize and store items in a systematic and orderly manner to ensure easy access and retrieval.
Ensure that storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
Implement and maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory system to minimize waste and ensure the freshness of perishable items.
4.Issuing and Distributing Goods:
Issue and distribute goods to various hotel departments as per their requisitions.
Maintain records of goods issued, including quantities and departments receiving the goods.
Ensure that requisitions are properly authorized before issuing goods.
5.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory transactions.
Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to the management.
Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and easily accessible for audits.
6.Coordination with Other Departments:
Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
Liaise with other departments, such as housekeeping, kitchen, and maintenance, to understand their inventory needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures.
7.Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local regulations regarding storage and handling of goods.
Ensure that all safety and security measures are in place and followed in the storage areas.
Report any safety hazards or security breaches to the management immediately.
8.Cost Control:
Monitor and control inventory costs by preventing wastage, pilferage, and overstocking.
Assist in the negotiation of purchase prices and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
Implement measures to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
