VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Allterrain Services Group-Zambia, Africa’s leading facilities service provider is looking for dynamic and self-motivated Zambian with proven performance to fill the existing vacant positions at our Kitwe project in Zambia as listed below;

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR*1

PURPOSE:    As a Maintenance Supervisor you shall be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical installations plant and equipment. You are also responsible for proper functioning of Electrical equipment for maximum efficiency and minimum downtime

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

Must have a minimum of a Diploma in Electrical with a minimum of two years work experience in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other related fields in commercial/domestic or industrial experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job duties may be considered

Your Responsibilities

The specific duties of the Maintenance Supervisor will be as set out below but not limited to:

  • To ensure that each day maintenance work runs to schedule and to a plan. The supervisor has a diary of work timetabled for each day of the week prepared prior the start of the week.
  • Performs maintenance and service repairs on electrical systems.
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
  • To be able to read circuit diagrams and fix electrical installations as per diagrams
  • To be able to trouble shoot and to find faults on different types of commercial and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Analyzes drawings for the purpose of identifying location of new and existing electrical systems and determining the efficient installation of additional systems.
  • Attends meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Estimates materials and/or equipment needed to complete work projects for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Installs electrical systems (e.g. underground electrical conduit, fire alarms, switchboards, clock systems, etc.) for the purpose of providing updated, enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities Operates boom truck and heavy equipment for the purpose of completing high overhead electrical jobs.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g. records on fire alarms, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
  • Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
  • Repairs electrical systems including communications, overloads, lighting fixtures, etc. (e.g. air conditioners, kitchen equipment, fire alarms, pole lights, motors, motor controls, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper/safe operation of equipment.
  • Responds to emergency situations during and after work hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Tests fire alarms yearly for the purpose of ensuring they are in operating condition and to meet state and district guidelines.
  • Transports a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
  • Troubleshoots repairs and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems, including all campus lights and programmable lighting controls.
  • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction. Draw up schedule maintenance plans for servicing and installing electrical related equipment.
  • Ability to multi task and work in areas outside trade area when required
  • To be able to work with high level of safety focus
  • To be Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as may be required
