CAPOLSA
The Centre for the Promotion of Literacy in Sub-Saharan Africa (CAPOLSA) of the University of Zambia as sub-contracted by Teaching At The Right Level (TaRL) Africa, will be conducting a process monitoring data collection exercise to support the measurement of student learning levels, program implementation fidelity, and intermediate outcomes, for a three-arm RCT that measures the effects of the Catch Up and Catch Up CPD programs. The data collection is planned for May to June 2024 in three target provinces; Central, Western, and Southern. CAPOLSA now seeks applications from eligible and available Zambian nationals to participate in the process monitoring assignment as i) Quality Control Officers and ii) Assessors.
1. Quality Control Officers (QCO)/Supervisors
DUTIES
- Provide quality control of the data collected by the assessors in the data collection exercise; manage assessors and ensure that all data collected adheres to minimum standards.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- First Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or relevant field.
A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage. - A minimum of 3 years experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and data management.
- Excellent command of the Silozi, Chitonga, or Icibemba languages.
- Experience working with children or conducting data collection with children.
- MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
- MUST be knowledgeable about the Teaching At The Right Level (Catch Up) Methodology.
- Must be amenable to instruction.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
2. Assessors
DUTIES

Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Minimum Diploma or Higher Diploma in Education, social sciences, or a relevant field. A Degree will be an added advantage.
- 2 – 3 years experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
- Excellent command of the Silozi, Chitonga, or Icibemba languages.
- Experience working with children or conducting data collection on children.
- MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
- MUST be knowledgeable about the Teaching At The Right Level (Catch Up) Methodology.
- Must be amenable to instruction.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
