We are hiring!

My client is a private Game lodge situated on the Lower Zambezi National Park is looking to hire an energetic, young, passionate and collaborative Assistant Lodge Manager to assist the General manager in managing the Lodge, and in doing so, create a profound and memorable guest experience, which is in line with the service, vision and creative concepts of the Lodge. This position is accountable to the General Manager.

The role requires someone to be adaptable to living in a remote and often challenging environment and very importantly the candidate needs to have the right attitude, intelligence and aptitude for this role. You will need to have exceptional interpersonal skills as hosting and entertaining is a huge focus of the Lodge where  extraordinary pride is taken in their wine, cocktails and dining menus so an interest or knowledge in Food and Beverage is a huge plus.

It is the responsibility of the Assistant Manager to monitor the hospitality service, maintenance and housekeeping standards within the Lodge. In this capacity, guest expectations regarding the standard of service should be exceeded. Other key duties involve providing a welcoming but professional environment for guests with exceptionally high standards of service, maintaining a safe, harmonious, enjoyable work environment for staff, lead by example in a positive and enthusiastic manner. You must be able to manage unforeseen circumstances with ease and adapt to changing conditions, be a team player and be able to assess operational issues and take the best course of action to resolve them, without delay.

  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Second language a plus
  • Food and Beverage knowledge a plus
  • Qualification in Hospitality
  • At least 5 years experience in the hospitality industry

Provided is a Full time contract, single studio accommodation (fully furnished), meals, uniform, 6 week on /2 week off schedule, 30 days leave per annum. One flight to country of origin (in SADC) per year. Excellent growth opportunities. Salary based on experience and attitude. Start date is 1st March 2024
