Job Description


AB Bank Zambia is looking for 14 Bank Officers to fill the positions of Business Officer (10), Middle Officer (2) & Portfolio Management Officer (2) to be based at our Chipata Branch. In these roles the Bank Officers will provide support and manage communication with the Bank’s customers on our various platforms. As such, the Bank Officers will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and creating a professional and friendly image of the Bank.

1. Business Officer (10)

Among other responsibilities, you will be expected to:

  • Market and sell the Bank’s products and services
  • Effective client retention and after-sales relations
  • Monitor and enforce credit repayments
  • Create and manage own business portfolio

Your Minimum Qualifications and Competencies should be:

  • Diploma in a Business-related field
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office package, office equipment and applications
  • Have good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be a Chipata resident

2. Middle Officer (2)

Among other responsibilities, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct overall account opening duties. Perform system transactions upon client and management requests
  • Performing all local and international money transfers
  • Processing of all daily front and back-office system transactions
  • Effectively enter data and manage records

Your Minimum Qualifications and Competencies should be:

  • Diploma in Banking & Finance or any relevant field
  • Effective communication, planning and time management skills
  • Previous experience as an AB Bank Intern or in similar role will be an advantage
  • Must be a resident of Chipata

3. Portfolio Management Officer (2)

Among other responsibilities, you will be expected to:

  • Understanding customer needs and work with supervisor to develop plans to address them
  • Client retention and management
  • Proactively following up on all client transactions performed to ensure completeness
  • Always up to date with changes to processes and procedures internally and externally in the banking sector

Your Minimum Qualifications and Competencies should be:

  • Minimum of a diploma in business administration, finance, accounts, economics, or any related field
  • Basic knowledge on loan cycle
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office package, office equipment and applications
  • Must be a Chipata Resident
