Zambia Sugar Plc. is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia.  Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.

The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position in the Estate Support Services Department:

ORGANISATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS MANAGER X1 –PERMANENT (MIDDLE MANAGEMENT)

The position reports to the Business Improvement Director. The role intent includes the following: Supporting execution of all strategic initiatives ensuring an integrated perspective is maintained and to lead the development of change management strategy, plan, and communications for all initiatives; Influence the delivery and maintaining of an optimization/business improvement mind-set  across the value chain; Define overall BU and functional plans in embedding the Operating Model, including specific capability development focus;; Build sustainable organisational capabilities in org design, change management and continuous improvement.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

  • To ensure Develop organisational effectiveness strategy, plans and communications, aligned to Group and Country strategy and Country context, challenges and opportunities.
  • Support successful Country implementation of new Operating Model, ensuring alignment with HR throughout.
  • Ensure that change management is integrated with overall strategic project execution.
  • Assess and track change readiness and communicate with Business Improvement Head and Group / Country HR on how to improve organisational readiness for change.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risks to change readiness and integrate with overall strategic project plans.
  • Optimise resources, work processes, roles, interfaces, and ways of working to solve organisational challenges, ensuring key capabilities are prioritised.
  • Provide guidance and direction to strategic project teams and ensure that an integrated perspective is maintained.
  • Ensure change initiative adherence to standardized processes, policies, procedures, and governance.
  • Develop performance metrics and targets for change initiatives, and track achievement against these.
  • Report to Country leadership on change initiative progress and risks / mitigations required.
  • Support implementation of initiatives and enablers to strategic imperatives through Change leadership and Agile methodologies
  • Collaborate with functions to promote a culture of continuous improvement through coordinated OE/CI methodologies, team effectiveness and performance management.
  • Ensure an ongoing healthy “sponsorship spine” in Country.
  • Conduct post implementation change management review.
  • Develop in-country change management capability through targeted training.
  • Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Industrial Psychology or Business Commerce degree or Engineering degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of OE / Change Management, with a proven track record of successful change initiatives.
  • Agile and lean methodologies experience.
  • Post graduate degree is an added advantage.
