Job Description


Yalelo is seeking an Auto Mechanic who will be responsible for all mechanical repairs on site including but not limited to dismantling and assembly, maintaining and repairing all automotive machinery and vehicles. He/she is also engaged in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and servicing of a wide variety of automotive, including gasoline, electric, hybrid and natural gas powered, and/or heavy-duty diesel equipment, refrigerated trucks, gensets and forklifts.

The role is based in Siavonga.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Conducts scheduled maintenance on automotive machinery, systems, and heavy duty machinery
  • Assembles mechanical components according to specifications.
  • Examines (automotive) machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine anomalies
  • Designs a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades for all units in production
  • Maintains work logs, repairs, and maintenance records for all units in production
  • perform maintenance repairs on outboard engines
  • Offers consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to boats and heavy duty machinery
  • Performs vehicle Assessments using checklist and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspections.
  • Establishes and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Automotive Mechanics Craft certificate or better.
  • Valid Zambian (RTSA) issued Driver’s License held for 2 or more years.
  • 2 Years of Automotive experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in Automotive Equipment, Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience working in an FMCG Industry is an added advantage

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work weekdays and weekends including rotational shifts.
