Role Description

At MBHS, the Commercial Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will oversee the finance function of the organisation ensuring that there are proper systems in place to generate accurate records and timely reports. Assess commercial contracts and supervise the supply chain of the operation. Further, ensuring all statutory obligations are met on time.

Educational Requirements

  • Fully qualified CA, ACCA OR CIMA
  • Experience in the commercial space, ideally in a similar role would be an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Proficiency in IT systems and tools. Should be familiar with search Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cultivate enduring internal stakeholders relationships
  • 7 to 10 years post qualification experience

Key Responsibilities·

  • Oversee  the Accounting function.
  • Oversee the management of Company funds
  •  Critical analysis of financial data
  • Commercially assessing contracts
  • Commercially assessing new projects.
  • Assist in raising Debt/Equity as and when needed.
  • Manage inventory and procurements
  • Lead in cash flow management, forecasting, preparation of budgets, databases partnering with other departments

Risk Management

  1. Contact relevant entities and arrange for general insurance for the business and its employees to ensure there is appropriate cover. Negotiate for better premiums and interest rates annually.
  2. Ensure bi-annual managed and audited stock takes to assess that the values are correct and that losses are minimised.

Financial and Administrative Reporting

  1. Ensure that all Head Office reporting regarding financial activities are completed and submitted to the GM before the set deadline.
  2. Ensure all staff are trained in and comply with MBHS policies and procedures.
  3. Reports all adverse events/incidents, serious patient complaints and any financial risk issues to the GM within 1 hour of occurrence.
  4. Hold weekly staff meetings with the Finance department to provide guidance and leadership.
  5. Attend management meetings with the GM.
  6. Attend other scheduled meetings with suppliers and clients when needed.
  7. Travel to sites to hold meetings with relevant staff that have links with the Finance department and conduct special training as needed.
  8. Assist the GM with any commercial, financial or administrative tasks that may be assigned.
