HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the formulation and implementation of human resource policies and practices to ensure delivery of human resource and administrative services to support the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives in compliance with employment laws and governance requirements.

Key Duties

The Human Resource Manager shall be responsible for the following:

1. Human

Resource
Strategic Plan

Human resources strategy developed into an annual
action plan and budget to support the achievement of
the company’s strategic plan.

2. Managed

Performance
Management

High employee performance culture promoted, and
employees are accountable and rewarded for achieving
established performance company standards and
objectives.

3. Human

Resource
Policies

Human resources policies and procedures formulated
and implemented in line with the company’s strategic
plan and in compliance with existing labour laws.

4. Recruited

Talented
Employees

Talented, qualified employees recruited, oriented, and appointed to substantive position according to established procedures. The staff to be managed well in order to be retained.

5. Controlled

Expenditure

Department annual budget developed, approved, and
managed well in order to ensure that the expenses are
controlled and are within approved budget limits.

6. Maintained

Employee
Relations

Employee relations issues are managed including
grievances and counselling of staff on work-related
problems. The communication channels between
management and employees maintained.

7. Favourable

Industrial
Climate

Sound industrial relations atmosphere created and maintained. The union-management conflicts are prevented, and industrial unrest is dealt with. Manage union affairs and ensure industrial harmony.

8. Managed

Negotiations

Recommendations on the outcome of joint negotiations committee for collective bargaining with the union presented to management and informed decision made in the interests and mutual benefit of both parties.

9. Managed

Employee
Development

Training and development needs of employees are identified, and staff are trained to be competent
employees who contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives.

10. Managed

Compensation and Benefits

Employment conditions of service put in place ensuring that the company’s compensation is competitive in the market to attract and retained top talent.

11. Managed

Security
Services

Measures designed to secure company’s property, premises and employees developed and implemented and assets are secured and protected from loss.

12. Managed

Health
Services

Quality clinical care services provided to employees and good health is promoted with diseases prevented.

Compliance to statutory health guidelines and company health policy also ensured.

13. Managed

Human
Resources
Records

Human resources database of employees’ records developed, maintained and status reports generated for informed decision making.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must be in possession of the following minimum qualifications and experience requirements:

1. Eight (8) years of work experience in human resource management at senior level.
2. Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels
3. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or other related qualification.
4. Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
5. Valid 2023 practicing license from the of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

You must posses the following skills and knowledge:

1. Knowledge of Zambian labour laws and legislations.
2. Knowledge of conflict management
3. Knowledge of remuneration management.
4. Knowledge of stakeholder management.
5. Planning and coordinating skills
6. Interpersonal skills
7. Problem solving & Decision Making
